The National Museum of Ireland-Decorative Arts & History is home to a wide range of objects, which include weaponry, furniture, silver, ceramics and glassware; as well as examples of Folklife and costume. With over 16,000 artefacts on display, What’s in Store? gives you the chance to get behind the scenes and explore a working museum collection. Explore the histories of soldiers and their families in Soldiers & Chiefs: The Irish at War at Home and Abroad. The exhibition uses original artefacts, letters, replicas and audio accounts to show how soldiering in war has affected the lives of Irish people. Other exhibitions include Irish Silver, The Way We Wore–250 Years of Irish Clothing & Jewellery, Eileen Gray 1878 – 1976, and Airgead–A Thousand Years of Irish Coins & Currency. Visit The Easter Rising: Understanding 1916 exhibition, which examines the decade of disturbance between 1913 and 1923, from the Dublin Lockout, through the Easter Rising to the end of the Civil War
