The South Lancashire Regiment was formed in 1881 and at that time was known as the Prince of Wales’ Volunteer Regiment. Since that time, this wing of the army has been involved in many of the most important conflicts that the British have been engaged in. This museum studies the history of the regiment and with reference to a great many interesting artefacts brings that story alive before your eyes.
