Situated in the heart of the city, Aberdeen Art Gallery is a particularly attractive example of late 19th century architecture; it houses one of the finest art collections in Britain with paintings, sculpture and graphics from the 15th century to the present day.
Designed by local architect Alexander Marshall MacKenzie, it opened in 1885 and is the largest public gallery in the North of Scotland.
One of the most popular aspects of Aberdeen Art Gallery is its exciting programme of exhibitions and events, created from the city's permanent collections and a lively selection of touring exhibition from home and abroad.
You can also visit the Gallery Shop where you will find unique range of stationery, cards, books, crafts, jewellery, prints and children's gifts.
Need a break? The gallery offers a great selection of Fair Trade tea and coffee, an assortment of freshly baked cakes, snacks and light meals as well as a children's menu.
