The Lennox Island Mi’kmaq Cultural Centre was officially opened on June 28, 2000 by the Honorable Governor General of Canada Adrien Clarkson. The Centre is dedicated to the Elders of the community for their wisdom and knowledge that they have dedicated to the community. The centre has an interpretive display and explains the history of the Mi’kmaq through to the present day. The centre has artifacts and also provides cultural awareness and positive promotion of our history and customs of today and yesterday. We also have cross cultural awareness programs and educational sessions.
