When the world's newest rainforest opened in March of 1993 at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas, visitors had to use their imaginations to visualize how the acre-size rainforest would actually fill out its 10-story glass pyramid. Not so today! In just a few years, the Moody Gardens Rainforest Pyramid has formed a complete 55-foot tall canopy of tropical foliage, which blocks out much of the blazing Texas sun.
