Located on the site of a large plantation once owned by Colonel Theophilus Hunter, this two story, late Georgian style house was built by his son with the house containing a one story rear wing that adjoins the small late 18th century home of his father. The Dorothea Dix Hospital for mental illness is located on the site and the house contains a historic exhibit and memorabilia of the hospital.
