The Davis log house began as the home of W.C. Clark who constructed his log house north of town in 1831. Upon his death, the family used this log home as payment for legal work by practicing attorney Nat Hart Davis who had moved to Montgomery in 1840. In 1851, Nat Hart Davis disassembled the Clark house and moved the logs to its present location.
