More from this place

Eric Hollenbeck, his family and staff welcome you to the Blue Ox Millworks, where Victorian craftsmanship techniques of the 1800s are utilized to produce authentic custom quality products for homes around the world.

Our customers have included two governors' mansions, national parks, historic cathedrals, even the President of the United States.

Here at Blue Ox, we strive to preserve, demonstrate, and teach the craftsmanship of the past. Since our inception in 1973, Blue Ox has emphasized traditional methods of production and craftsmanship; our newest piece of equipment is dated 1948.

Today, Blue Ox has grown into a working museum featuring a millworks, historic village, and school of traditional arts. Blue Ox includes a professional woodworking shop specializing in Victorian restoration and reproduction, a 19th century sawmill, an antique print shop & book bindery, a blacksmith shop, boat works, a pottery studio, an old-style skid camp, & many historic attractions and furry friends in a beautiful Humboldt Bay setting.

We welcome venturers from near and far to come meet our Ox Babe and Blue and all of the other animals that reside here at Blue Ox Millworks and Historic Park.
