Principal Elevation, Wynnstay, architect's drawing
This elevation comes from a set of 53 of the most detailed and beautifully drawn plans of the 18th century. This design for Wynnstay would have created one of the largest and most impressive mansions in the country and would have stood as a symbol to wealth and culture.
Did you know?
Baroque architecture was out of fashion by this period, with architects turning to the more restrained and archaeologically based Neo-classical designs, such as Adam’s silver.
