Horse Blanket

This large piece of leather with 2 holes deliberately cut into the swath possibly to serve as eyeholes. This blanket was possibly used to put over horses head. Blankets were often fitted for the horse's chest to rump.

Horse blankets were often used because horses were groomed to keep their coats short, even during winter. Horses' coats were kept short for health and safety reason.
