OOKL's mobile learning platform is for museums, galleries, zoos and botanic gardens that want to engage school groups using simple technology that is familiar to all students.
What is it?
The service consists of two linked elements - an OOKL SV (school visit) learning app on a mobile device and the OOKL website - that deliver educational experiences to students before, during and after a trip to your place. With OOKL you can engage your schools in more modern ways and extend the experience back into the classroom.
Prices start from US$799 / £499 more pricing info |
How does the mobile work?
Students are given a task at the beginning of a visit and can work independently or in small groups. They use the mobile app to learn about points of interest relating to their task and collect evidence such as comments, photos and sounds. Content accessed or created by students on the device is automatically uploaded into a private space for the class on the OOKL website.
|
Proven to work
The service has been the subject of three academic studies and numerous case studies by partners. The keys results are that OOKL improved learning outcomes and satisfaction, and the overall time spent in the venue increased from 20 minutes to 90 minutes.

How does the web work?
Back in the classroom, students can log onto OOKL and review the content they created on the day. The site enables students to assemble a digital story of their trip that can be published to their teacher for evaluation.
