Whyte Avenue
Complete in 1891, when the Calgary and Edmonton Railway Company decided to complete it’s line from Calgary to a terminus south of the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, the avenue is indefinitely one of Edmonton’s biggest treasures. With live music, theatre, shopping festivals (namely The Fringe), restaurants, fashion, music shops and books, it is home to some of Edmonton’s coolest and independent businesses.
Did you know?
The McLean House at 10454 84th Avenue was built in 1896, making it Edmonton's longest serving modern residence.
