Exhibition: Pastures and Pasture Masters
An exhibition that looks at the three areas of common land around the town of Beverley: Westwood, Swinemoor and Figham pastures. The importance of these areas was recognised in a recent survey of common lands by English Heritage. The exhibition shows how the pastures came to be owned by the town, how they have been managed by the Pasture Masters, and how they have been used by the people of Beverley and visitors to the town.
